My Culinary Journal

Living away from MY gives me a chance to explore my culinary skills - esp. when eating out is too expensive unlike in MY where a plate of char kuey teow can be bought at less than RM5. I try to make sure I spent more time with my kids instead of cooking while ensuring that the food still taste good and nutritious....So..the dishes are extremely simple to prepare (i try not to be a hero to prepare from scratch - prepared mixes do the trick really well)

Week#1

  • Beef Stew in Tomato Paste with celery, carrot and bell pepper - very hearty dish
  • Beef Rendang - i cheated on this one - bought the Brahim's Mix from MY - excellent product
  • Steamed Fish (Nile Perch Fillet) with yummy chili paste from Penang - am actually surprised how good this fish turned out - fish was below 10dh....so it was quite reasonable (feeds 2 persons)
