Moutabel & Roti!!

We fell "in love" with this thing called "moutabel" and the freshly oven-baked "roti". One is Lebanese and the other is Indian - marry them together and you get this delicious melt-in-your-mouth sensation that is absolutely amazing. Just tear and dip the roti into the moutabel.


So, what's this thing called moutabel? It's made from eggplant, sesame paste (tahinia), some olive oil and lemon. This stuff is available almost everywhere in Dubai and cost anywhere between 8dh to 15dh (depending on quantity).

And this roti, we bought this 1dh per piece (quite large piece - can feed 2 persons; but really, it's so good you want to finish it all by yourself, esp. with this dip). We bought this at an Indian Roti shop in International City, England Cluster - they sell nothing else but this bread - freshly baked in a huge really hot oven.

We had this for supper last night (supposed meant for lunch this morning - but the bread smelled so good, we couldn't resist) - put on weight surely...!! :P
