Zaatar! Yum...

We tried for the first time Zaatar at the Hyper Panda grocery store...man...it tasted so good - better than some pizza that we've eaten. The below is called Zaatar & Cheese Manakish. It's a Lebanese bread baked in hot oven with zaatar (a mix of herbs & olive oil) & cheese and some lemon juice. We ate it almost immediately after it came out of the oven - very, very good!!!

The bread goes into the hot oven for baking for about a couple of minutes.

The next day, we went to another shop to try the similar kind of food. This shop is at Mirdiff Mall.

We opened it up to show the contents - this one is just plain zaatar - just mixture of herbs, olive oil and lemon juice without the cheese. This is good too as you can really savour the taste of the aromatic herbs. I think I still prefer the one with cheese.
